Welcoming older couple in a super homely space ( we watched TV together afterwards 😝) Very helpful with my vegetarian requestsHad a wonderful bowl of veg soba washed down afterwards with plum wine!!
MoreVery delish soba!!
We had a delicious lunch here! Since Nagano is known for their soba (buckwheat noodles), we ordered the kitsune style soba. It was so good! The owners were super nice too!
MoreGreat cosy place. The staff were lovely. Limited English but there is a rough English menu which gives you an impression of what to order. We had 2 of the steamed buns (vegetable was the flavour of the day) and they were great. We also had the Kake Soba (hot with seaweed it seemed) and the Tanuki Soba (hot with mushrooms, bits of tempura batter and various things). The tanuki was our favourite. Would definitely get it again. Cash only. Was open on national foundation day.
Moregood so-ba Japanese homemade restaurant
Awesome place to eat!! Soba was delicious, fried chicken was superb (must try), owner is super nice!
MoreBrings us back to the memories of dining in our granny's house. Friendly lady boss and her husband cooking behind the counters. Buckwheat tea was freshly brewed. Chilled Soba (500yen) tasted so fresh we ordered two portions. Fried chicken (900yen) was alright, could have been better. We drove a caravan and managed to park along the river, next to the bus stop. Good pitstop after climbing the jigokudani monkey park.
MoreLovely elderly couple runs this place and the Soba is great. We were the only ones in there on the night, so it felt like a home cooked meal. Also, as someone else recommended, definitely try the plum wine!
MoreI very much enjoyed my cold udon noodle. The owners are very pleasant and the ambiance is... Interesting.
MoreSansai soba (¥650) is good. The broth is flavorful and the soba is not hard nor soggy. The vegetable bun (¥150) has too strong ginger flavor to my taste. And the dough is also much thicker than what I’m used to.Slices of apples as free desserts :)
MoreA quirky little noodle shop. Excellent Food, friendly staff, and be sure to try the plum liquor.
MoreVery heart warming meal by a couple who runs this restaurant. We arrived at night and we were looking for restaurants that were opened to 10pm. We found in on google map which was near to our place. The restaurant gives a very homely atmosphere which was fully decorated with Japanese statues and Japanese cartoon plushie. It was a quiet night and we were the only patrons in the restaurant. It was awkward but the meal and the friendly auntie made us feel comfortable in the cold night. Fried chicken was awesome and portion was big. There is English menu that describes the type of udon that they served.
MoreThis tiny shop is full of character and offers a nice simple and pleasant experience!
MoreOh c'mon you'll never eat at a place with this decor, ever. Soba noodles big and soft. Udon noodles tasted fresh and nutritious. Broth was full of flavour. Fried chicken was a huge portion. Dumpling and vegetables was hearty dumpling and delicious deep green tasty vegetable. Everything great.
MoreThe restaurant has a warm ambiance. The soba was great and the vegetable oyaki was even better. The apple slices were a sweet touch as well, pun intended.
